The City of Lahti launched an ESCO project focusing on energy saving at the Saksala swimming hall in Lahti. In addition to the heat recovery of shower and pool waters, other energy saving measures were implemented in the swimming hall. LEDs and water equipment exchanges are more energy efficient.
The project was led by Siemens Oy, which provided the waste water hybrid exchanger for Lahti City as one of the most important energy-saving measures. When the project started, the design of the waste water recovery system was decided upon, in which the leaving shower waters are centrally directed to a small wastewater pumping plant. From the pumping station shower waters are passed through the Ecowec hybrid exchanger.
